@Home in Franklin County
Why We Exist
Franklin County is a beautiful, agriculturally rich community with deep roots in farming, and newer manufacturing and distribution centers with both small-town living and boroughs with a more urban suburban feel. Its productive farmland and rural character are central to the county’s identity and economic strength.
At the same time, these assets create unique complexities for housing. Preserving agricultural land, supporting local industry, and maintaining community character must be balanced with the growing need for attainable housing for workers, seniors, and young families. As housing costs rise and workforce needs evolve, Franklin County faces the challenge of creating diverse housing options in appropriate locations while protecting the farmland and open spaces that make the county special.
@Home is a coalition working to advance attainable housing, ensuring people at all income levels can live and thrive in Franklin County.

This expansion from Adams County allows us to take what we have learned to spread the good work on developing more housing in line with Franklin County incomes.
This builds on existing work in Franklin County by a wide range of community groups and experiences such as the one on the right - Tap Talks , hosted by Healthy Franklin County, where the community discussed Affordability in Franklin County.
As the coalition forms, partners are focusing on attainable housing, housing in-line with incomes earned in the county, to ensure residents can live and work in Franklin County.
